# Company Sync Settings

> Configure how companies are searched, created, and mapped between HubSpot and Tripletex.

Use **Company Sync Settings** to control how the app finds existing customers in Tripletex and how company data is mapped from HubSpot.

## Search parameter

Select the sync search parameter to decide which field in HubSpot should be used to search for existing customers in Tripletex.

Choose a field that is likely to be unique and reliable, such as:

* Email
* Phone number
* VAT number

<Note>
  If the field you choose for the search is missing, the sync can fail.
</Note>

## Tripletex customer number preference

Go to the **Tripletex customer number preference** section.

You can create a new customer only when the customer is **not found** in Tripletex.

You have two options:

### 1. Let Tripletex create the customer number

Choose **Let Tripletex create the customer number** if you want Tripletex to automatically generate the customer number when a new customer is created.

Then select which HubSpot field should store that generated customer number.

### 2. Take Tripletex customer number from HubSpot

Choose **Take Tripletex customer number from HubSpot** if you want a HubSpot field to supply the customer number that will be used in Tripletex.

## Company field mappings

Use **Company field mappings** to control which HubSpot company properties should populate fields in Tripletex when a new customer is created.

Some mappings may already be added by default.

To update mappings:

1. Open the mapping area on the right side
2. Click **Actions**
3. Select **Edit Mapping**

<Note>
  Set up a consistent search field and customer-number strategy before enabling sync. This helps avoid duplicate customers and makes future lookups more reliable.
