> Choose how your Shopify sales are recorded in Xero — one invoice per order or daily summaries.

The first thing you'll configure is **how Shopify transactions appear in Xero**. You have two options:

    **Recommended for most stores.** Every Shopify order creates its own Xero invoice with full line-item details. Easy to match each sale back to a specific order.

    Best for detailed, order-level reconciliation.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Sales Summary Mode" icon="layer-group" href="/shopify-xero/sales-summary-mode">
    Groups all of yesterday's sales into **one invoice** and refunds into **one credit note** in Xero. Keeps your ledger clean at high volumes.

    Best for a simple, summarized daily view.

<Tip>
  You can switch between modes at any time. Switching only affects **future** sales — anything already pushed to Xero stays as-is.

## Switching Between Modes

You can switch from one mode to the other at any time from this page.

<Warning>
  Switching modes affects how your **future** sales data is posted to Xero. Previously pushed data will not be affected.
</Warning>

A confirmation dialog will appear when you switch. Click **Confirm and Continue** to apply the change.
